In an effort to upset Facebook's dominance, Google launched Google+ in the summer of 2011. It has not taken hold and replaced Facebook or other social media properties as I am sure they had wished for - but it is still important for SEO and showing up on local searches.

The whole idea for a business website should be obtaining new customers. Get your web visitor to email or contact form you, or find your phone number to call. But I still see websites sending visitors away from their site to their Facebook page. Bad idea...
